Bargain offer for boating enthusiasts at Wisbech harbour

The offer, for boats up to six metres, is being made to promote the new pontoons that have just been installed, doubling the capacity of the yacht harbour to 128 berths. The new pontoons are part of the £47 million Nene Waterfront Regeneration Project that will transform the economy of Wisbech and the whole of Fenland.Among the new berths for larger craft are 15 small berths for six metre power or sail boats and the special offer is designed to encourage ‘trailer sailors’ to put their boats in the water for the whole summer rather in their driveways or back gardens.

Harbour Master Peter Harvey recognises that the organisation required to get a boat into the water each time an owner wants to use it is a barrier to more frequent use. By offering a cheap and secure berth option, he believes it will encourage owners to pop down to the harbour and use their boats more often.The wild Wash, with its stunning sand banks, diverse wildlife and fantastic sports fishing is one of the best kept secrets in Britain. It is truly one of the last wildernesses left in Britain, and Wisbech is the ideal gateway to this stunning resource.
